Let us know how it goes Scott.

I was looking at one of those on Ebay last week, I imagined it worked as a flash. Looks like yours stays lit up.

Yeah this one stays lit up all the time, I went and tried some shots handheld but it was too late in the day, I will try again tomorrow. It uses 2 x AA batteries and I think it will chew through them. But it has a DC option which might be ok. I need to try out my idea on the green tree ants here, and see if they can spell ;)

I ordered a ring light off ebay and it arrived today :)

Congrats Scott.. looks good on the camera, does it attach via lens threads??? We have a ringlight on a fixed camera at work that works good (only for close ups on "parts"

Look forward to seeing some of your work with it.

Hi Pat yeah it attaches via numerous lens threads that were supplied, hopefully I will test it out tomorrow.

I think they could well be Ring Flash v Ring Light. I'm sure the Ring Flashes are more expensive, but they dont help you with lighting up macro shots for easy manual focus in poor light.
