I have you to thank for telling me about the galaxy s3. Yesterday I rooted it and flashed a jelly bean ROM and I am in love with this phone. Hopefully the hardware lasts 2 years lol.

You're welcome! I love mine too. I should root mine and load up JB. :)

The hardware on my previous phone, a Motorola Droid X just stopped working after a while. The GPS would only work when I pressed on a specific spot on the back, and the wi-fi would hardly pick up a signal anymore. It was fading fast! I don't suspect the S3 will have the similar problems.

This thing is a monster. I rooted yesterday and flashed a ROM called "paranoid android" its a JB based ROM. Absolutely fantastic. Zero bloatware and battery lasts longer.

Where did you find the ROM?

I get all my roms from xda developers right from my browser. Then I download it onto my sd card and I use cwm recovery ro flash it. Right now jm using jellywiz rom and it is so awesome. Battery life is great, no bloatware and super stable

The wife has an S3 and it's an amazing phone.
I rooted it (before letting her have it), so that I could install CWM, SuperUser etc and some other useful apps which would not have worked otherwise.

She came from a Sony Experia Mini (I think it was a 1.8" screen or something else ridiculously small), so going up to 4.8" was a real eye opener for her :)

And XDA developers seems to be one of the best, if not the best, place for getting new ROMs for most Android devices :)

Enjoy your phone :)
