Hurricane Issac.....

I spend most of the day inside due to this stupid storm. At my house we have had light winds by storm standards and that was with the center of teh storm passing 20 miles from where I live. The rain here also has not been bad. I have no flooding and no damage that I can see. I lost a few branches on my beautiful trees, and it will take me a couple hours to get the leaves out of my pool.

On the other hand.... there are people in Southeastern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi who relived the fear brought on by Katrina exactly 7 years after that terrible storm,The exact same places were hit hard today that were hit by Katrina, and then there were places that were slammed today that Katrina spared. Please keep those families in your prayers. We are always so fast to stand up for people in other countries when they are hit by natural disasters, we need to stand up for people in our own country as well.

Today people will see that we were spared from the terrible destruction that Katrina brought on Louisiana and Mississippi, but the emotional toll of today's storm will be one that you can't see in pictures. I so feel for the people in Hurricane alley. If you believe in the power of prayer please send out thoughts and prayers for our friends. People from the coast act tough, but they really are people with real feelings.

Glad you are safe. Thanks for sharing your story, and for reminding us of those who were not so lucky. Prayers and good thoughts are on their way from Texas.

I am glad to hear that you didn't receive any flooding or damage. Hurricanes leave mass destruction where ever they may travel. And not just the physical damage you can see with your eyes..praying for all those impacted directly or indirectly by hurricane Isaac.
