Can't get my 1st DSLR now

I was saving up my money so I could buy a D5100 & start getting into Photography more this year bc I've become VERY interested in it lately!!

The 1st setback was that my College messed up my PALE money, so I got less than I thought I would & that's why I'm saving, otherwise I would of already had the camera.

Now the last setback is that last night the cheap computer chair my dad bought me broke while I was drinking some juice in it & as I fell the juice wasted ALL over my Dell Laptop!!

So NOW I have to use all the money I was saving for a DSLR, on a new laptop bc I need one for school & there is NO way to fix the old laptop bc I've done everything & it's very much DEAD.

I'm so Upset -__-

Are you sure it's dead? Maybe it's just the keyboard.
Sorry for your troubles. Glad you weren't hurt when the chair broke.

Hopefully it's just the keyboard, they are pretty inexpensive, I've replaced them before. Keep the faith, things will get better.

Best Buy will fix it, and probably will give you interest free financing on the camera ! win/win. but good luck though. School still trumps all, so stick with it .

This is very off topic, but I don't feel welcome on this Website/the Forums bc I keep getting "Smart remarks" from ppl who could of just NOT commented on my Discussions & moved on. I know I'm a Newbie & newbies can be "annoying" but that is NO reason to act like you're better/higher than me and I shouldn't be here

It's unfortunate you feel this way. I checked all the responses and found nothing inappropriate that was directed at you in a "smart" way. All of us here take a great deal of time and effort to nurture and support newbie photographers. Perhaps the issue here is that you have not made you intentions and goals clear. Are you wanting help with the photography or the modeling? If it's the former, we can be of assistance when you get your camera. The latter is out of the realm of this forum.

Please don't make hasty judgments about this forum or its members when you yourself have not been specific. Whichever field you choose, you are definitely going to require a "thicker skin."

Thanks, but I think I won't come back until I have my DSLR bc ppl keep wanting to nag & scould me about having a camera 1st b4 I make Posts "Blah, Blah, Blah" or I'll just stay in this "Off Topic" Fourm so nobody will be able to complain about me going somewhere else

Thanks, but I'll just come back later on when I have a camera + I cant type EVERYTHING I have to say from my phone and the auto correct messing me up every 2 seconds.

Doesn't your cell phone have a camera? Equipment does not the photographer make . . . would be a good challenge for you to see what you could do with a phone camera.

You've never had a professor, teacher, coach or parent "redirect" or "scold" you before? It's your choice to go or stay and either way I wish you the best. Adulthood will be much easier for you if you can learn from "scoldings" because those are some of the things that will help you develop into a fine human being. If everybody always tells you only what you want to hear, you learn nothing.

In any case, I think I speak for all of us when I say that we all wish you well :)

I have a Mental Disorder which is why I can't explain everything I want to say bc it's in my head, just don't know how to explain it to others where they'll understand. I've been scolded plenty of times, but it still gets under your skin when someone who doesn't know you at all or your situation etc. does it & not in a "I'm telling you this bc I'm your friend/want to help you" kind of way that is appropriate to you. I never have anyone tell me what I want to hear anyway

I understand. I think you would find more friends here than you realize if you're willing to reach out. College is tough in these days, so is growing up.

Everything would not be alright, NO. I have found someone to help me at my college, so ill be back(guess I am right now). I just don't apriciate ppl judging me when they don't know me at all or my situation or what I'm going through right now in life, that's something I'd have to write in a private message. But I APOLIGIZE so I'd like to move ON & not have 1 mistake/out burst put against me & keep me from getting the most I can from this site & tryin to make friends.

I have a FE film camera or an extra Cybershot I will send to you...take your pick...I also have a Nikon EM that I could reseal it comes with a plastic case...Hell I don't even have a DSLR yet! It is okay to be soft skinned and up against the wall in life but you must learn to make do with what you have grasshopper...
