    Another Storm

Well, another storm is headed in my direction: https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/gra...track#contents

I'm beginning to just not care.

Started here Friday night with tropical storm warnings. Saturday the warning was dropped because it changed to a tropical depression. Later that day it turned into TS Sally. We had lots of rain yesterday and it's still raining now.

    Stay safe!

    Thank you, Cindy.

The storm is now forecast to track further west and my area is now forecast just to experience light winds associated with the storm, but lots of rain, which we need.

And which I don't really need right now. And as of last night, or so I found, I've got a damaged roof. The ridge vent cover is now loose and allowing rain into the attic. I've got a temp fix in place, and am fortunate to have a roofing contractor to agree to look into it tomorrow morning. Hopefully, they don't charge based upon the level of desperation of the customer.

Even though this storm is now much less likely to cause a problem for my area, I've got a bad feeling about this year.

    I'll stop rambling, now.

We'll do our best, Marilynne. And you do the same! Lots of activity in the Atlantic right now, and overall this year.

Today's update. I'm under a Tropical Storm Warning for the next day or two, and am about twenty miles away from the eastern edge of the latest forecast Hurricane Warning. My boss called last night and told me to work from home today, so I do so with one eye peeled on the television weather news, one eye looking out the window, one eye on the work computer, and one eye on my iMac!

It is raining now, has been for over a day, and is forecast to do so for the next two days. Total rainfall forecasts for my area range from thirteen to twenty inches total. If we get flooding in our area, I may go out with a camera to record it.

We are under a Tornado Watch all day, but overall, the winds from the storm are fairly light, with absolutely no wind at the moment. (Which is sort of surreal.) If it gets windy, I won't take photos of the wind.

The roofer won't go up onto the roof to repair it until it stops raining. For now, the leak is minor and manageable; but if we get a lot of wind, I expect to have more problems. If we get enough wind to blow the ridge vent cover completely off of the roof, then I'll have a new level of problems. I've got a good insurance company, but with our high deductible for hurricane related damage, I'm doing my best to stay in front of the problem and stop damage from occurring.

I'll do my best to stay safe. And do something foolish? Who,... me?
