What is your favorite tripod & which head?

I was thinking about going with Manfrotto - 190go! M-series MK190GOA4-BHX 65" Tripod

Anybody have this one?

The tripod I use most is an aluminum Gitzo that I purchased as NOS (new old stock). It has the twist legs like that one - which I found I prefer over the flip locks. Mine is a tall/long version because height was important. Since I don't hike, I don't need anything overly small or lightweight. The head I chose to go with it is a Manfrotto XPRO 3-Way Pan & Tilt head.

I also have a carbon fiber Gitzo which is nearly identical with the same head. For some reason, I gravitate towards the aluminum model. In addition, I have a Benro TMA28A Series 2 Mach3 Aluminum Tripod with an Oben BE-117 Ball Head (this head mostly gets used on my Platypod).

Back in the 90's, I purchased an aluminum Bogen-Manfrotto tripod that is built like a tank. It still has the Bogen head that was popular back then. I figure it will make a great studio tripod. With the head, the combo comes in close to 10-pounds. I haven't used it much since getting the Gitzo's because of its weight.

I don't have any firsthand knowledge of that Manfrotto. Be sure to read reviews. Usually you can find some unbiased reviews on Amazon. Even B&H has reviews with important info. Good luck with whatever you choose! :)

Still using a Manfrotto 055 PRO-B tripod but with an Arca' compatible head made by Three Legged Thing and a Peak Design plate. It's not a pretty setup but it's rock solid. I've had more than one bad experience with Manfrotto's quick detach system and, for some odd reason, issues with most tripod plates not gripping my d850 sufficiently to prevent slipping. The PD plate is small but feels welded in place with minimal tightening.

I use the Gitzo GT2532 Mountaineer Series 2 carbon tripod with a NOVOFLEX MB50 ball head and NOVOFLEX Q-BASE quick release plate along with the RRS L-Plates.
