A Very Sad Day

Since I have "known" many of you on the forum for years, I felt it was okay to post this. Yesterday we had to say goodbye to our sweet cat, Cecily. My wife and I are really hurting from this. I wanted to post one more picture of our girl here as a sort of tribute.

I cant like this, sorry for your loss. Its tough to say goodbye to a family member, either a human or animal. They become part of us. Beautiful picture.

I'm very sorry for your families loss Woody. It sure hurts to lose a wonderful feline friend.

Later on when you are up to it I'm sure Cecily would be all right with you rescuing another of her kind.

I feel sorry for you and share your grief. I've been there quite a few times (since we live a lot longer than them).
Time only will heal and fade that hurt.

Sorry Woody. People who aren't animal lovers will never get it. These creatures are family....and gifts from God. I have always preferred spending a day with an animal over a human, and I always will. There ain't nothin easy about losing one of these guys. One day you will be reunited.....I know that doesn't do anything for that sick feeling in your stomach and heart currently......but it will happen. Prayers to you and your wife...….and RIP Cecily.

:sorrow: I'm so sorry to hear this, Woody. Pets are wonderful additions to our families - but many of us don't think of them simply as pets. They are every bit a part of our families as people. Cecily is a beauty and obviously has been well-loved for all her years. She owned you - and not the other way around - at least those of us with cats understand that! May you cherish all the wonderful memories you shared with her, and may you find a little bit of peace knowing she had the best life possible with you and your family.

I am so sorry. I know how it feels. I lost my dog, who was in our family for nearly 15 years. Still today I think of him and I know we were blessed with him. He brought us so much joy and I believe your Cecily did it too.

Awwwwww... she was just gorgeous. So sorry to hear you've lost her. They really do become parts of us, don't they?

Thanks, everyone. It does my heart good to see how many of you understand how much a part of our life these little creatures are.
@hark you are right, she did own us. A standing rule was that if she was on my wife's lap, I went to get my wife her coffee refill or whatever else she needed so that she didn't have to disturb the cat. :)

That is so sweet, Woody! That beautiful cat ruled your home - as it should be!

So sorry for your loss. We just had to put down two of ours. Toe girls one 16 and the other 18 years old! They really become a part of the family. We have three Rag Dolls left!
