Nikon to limit repair facilities.

Hey Nikon, this totally sucks. I will use my existing cameras until they die, then make a decision of what brand to switch to. But until then, I will live with what I have!

I guess if I buy back into Nikon, I'm fortunate to have one in my state; but they will turn things around much slower unless they plan to beef up the 2 repair Centers. I'm wondering if they just plan to do fewer in-depth repairs and replace units more often. Many things are designed in "assemblies" to make repairs easier, I wonder if that's the case.

I think the long term future is as you say exchange units or sub-assemblies, Panasonic already do this even with the pro-grade lenses, often to move into the future and stay viable new strategies need to be adopted.
