On another forum, there's a post that quotes B&H's policy on used equipment.
Their terms and conditions say they do not keep up with the gray market status of their used equipment.
They say this is because used equipment is likely out-of-warranty anyway.
Glad I did not buy a gray market D750 from them.
It's not just a warranty issue since even 3rd party repair of gray market Nikon gear in the U.S. is not possible for many failures.
Wonder if other used equipment resellers have this same policy?
I've bought from ebay and local sellers who have always noted in their ad that the item was gray market. Full disclosure is a good thing.
This has spooked some potential buyers of the used D850's being offered at a 10% discount from new not-gray units.
I suppose you could call Nikon to verify the equipment status then return it under the generous return policy.
They will not reveal shutter count or serial number pre-sale either.
