I thought the Nikon 1's were long gone already.

Wonder if this particular factory is the one making many of Nikon's DSLR lenses ? Some articles imply that Nikon will keep other Chine factories open.

The D500 is also made in China (the build quality seems on par with my previous Nikon cameras) as I suspect are other models apart from the number of lenses made there.

Does this in anyway indicate the problems being experienced by Nikon are growing as their market share slips even further down the ladder?

Let's hope the suggested buy in from the likes of Fuji does go ahead, it will also help in the proposed development of a full frame mirrorless model.
