iOS 11 photos not saving as jpegs

I haven't yet updated my iPhone to iOS 11 yet. Has anyone encountered this problem of the update saving photos as .heic files instead of jpegs? They explain how to make the change back to jpegs--which all of us might want to consider doing before shooting.

I just updated my iPhone's iOS. Looking at the directions in the link, I don't even have the Formats option on my phone like it shows. Am still waiting for an app to update so haven't yet checked to see what file type is being used by the camera.

Good reminder @hark! I forgot about the picture format change.
