Might take drive out to Colorado.

Have a week off next week ,so me and the missus might drive out to Colorado. Probably around Colorado Springs . Anyone live around there or familiar with the area?
We'll have about 4 or 5 days to spend out there so we can make a few short side trips as well.

After a little more consideration, we decided that we'll make our base in Loveland,CO and do daily trips into Rocky Mountain National Park.

The park will be nice, now. Elk bugling, colors are already starting to change up high. Sprague Lake is a good spot for moose. (NEVER any guarantees on moose, of course.) Not too many touristas this time of year.

Don't do what my son and I did about 10 years ago.

One evening after dinner, still some daylight left, we drove south on the interstate just to see what was out there.

Quickly got bored since it is just flat farmland and decided to turn back, next two exits were closed for some reason then saw next exit was for a Military Memorial and we took it, but were unable to find the turn around if there was one.

Next thing we know, its dark, big stop sign ahead and bright flood lights lighting up the car. Guy with M16 says 'welcome to Cheyenne Mountain'. Half hour later after cavity searches we were back on our way.

Have a great time, Pete! As much as I love Colorado ... I think you should venture a little further west to Utah for some real scenery!
