Problem with banned x-forum member

We had a serial member who keeps registering under different names.

These are the ones that we feel fairly confident are the same person. He shoots weddings in the UK and is fair at best. He has a history of talking bad about brides that other photographers here have shot and talking bad about other photographers. This is not acceptable in polite society and will not be tolerated here in this forum. He never posted any photos except for one and we finally was able to tie him to One & One Wedding Photography Warwickshire.

If anyone ever sees any forum members that is less than polite and civil to anyone here on this forum please PM me and I will look into it ASAP. I love this forum and the group of people we have and the vast majority of the members are wonderful people. I want to keep it that way.

I had a couple people on here insult me. The one one actually PM'd me and asked why I was even on the site. I think I still have the message. Another we banned when I first got on. Would go off his roccker on all of us.

That is horrible.
You should report the pm to a moderator as harassment.

Hi! We've come across one another on the wildlife forums, (insects, macro, spiders) and I have tried to like your photos but...you make it very difficult. I just can't work out what you are all about.

Most of us who post in the Learning Photography Forum aren't really trying to do that at all; we are posting what we consider our best photos to try to impress everyone else. Thus we have people like wev, Scott Murray and others who can beat the socks off anything I can achieve but I still feel happy with what I produce with my little D3100.

Now we come to you. You have a camera which is far superior to those of wev and myself. However, apart from the occasional decent shot, your photos are lacklustre, to say the least, lacking in exif data, "f1.0, 00mm", as though you had something to hide from us all, and uncropped, making it difficult at times to know what the subject of the photo actually is.

Photography is my hobby and I would like to think that people might take pleasure from viewing my photos, as well as learning a little from the details I provide, including exif details. I find it hard to imagine what pleasure you, who describe yourself as a semi-pro, could possibly take from the numerous inferior quality images you post on a regular basis, totally devoid of any information. Maybe you have just got into a rut, as you seem to have received far more likes than you have ever given,. Maybe it's time you began looking at what others are producing and start trying to do the same thing. If I was still getting likes on a daily basis, simply because people on threads give likes to everybody, for throwawy shots of no artistic value, I would start to ask myself what I was doing on this forum.

This is just a friendly bit of advice. Some of your photos prove that you are capable of much better than the stuff you churn out on a daily basis. Let's see the real you!:D

I just brushed it off.

For what it is worth (which probably ain't much in my case), I have noticed that the trolls like Metal Jacket, etc. never seem to post photos or complete their about me profile. They only appear to join the board to create trouble and offer bad advice for what ever kicks they get out of this. Thus, whenever I see a comment that bothers me, the first thing I do is look at their profile and generally it is pretty empty and I ignore them and they usually soon go away, either by choice or banning.

I also want to pass on my thanks to the moderators for a job well done :cheerful:

I just decided the message was advice with a little insult.

I don't know what that was other than abrasive. There was no actual advice. There was just some unwanted feedback and an accusation followed by an 'attaboy.'
Ignoring it was probably the right thing to do.

It takes a lot to get through this tough skin. I try not to sink to their standards.

My goal is to keep them away. We have many people that visit this forum without registering. I want to keep it a friendly, caring and helpful place to be. I truly do care about the people here.

I remember seeing that site not long ago. That photographer really isn't in any position to be criticizing (or even giving advice about) other people's work, especially other wedding photographers' work.

Just ran across him on Steve Perry's forum. Didn't notice the name until after responding to a post that utterly contradicted reality with regard to a lens. Went back to check a reply and then noticed the name.

How someone can manage to stay that utterly miserable for so long is a marvel to me.

These two ring a bell. His images were mediocre at best but he was quick to make derogatory remarks. If his attitude toward his clients are the same as he made here, it is no wonder he is "pissed and broke".
