This has been posted at least twice before that I recall.
If the video is legit, the guy's an idiot. If the video is fake, he's just a different KIND of idiot.
Why would you have to depress the lens lock button to MOUNT the lens? Nikons are very easy, I depress the lens lock button with the inside of my right index finger. I have done it for so many years I honestly don't even think about it any more
As for dropping your gear, this is the reason why EVERYONE should have insurance on their camera gear. I get mine through PPA. I have the Basic plan runs me about $40 a month with a $250 deductible. Drop and trash my $3,500 600mm f/4 and it pays for itself for several years to come. It covers up to $15,000. So far I have not had to use it, but I would rather have it and not need it at the moment then need it and not have it.
