USPS Fail

It has been reported to the USPO but had not thought of reporting it to Amazon but that is a good idea even though the contents were not damaged. Amazon does package everything VERY well.

The reason for the video is I have a neighbor that I do not trust at all so just protection on my part. Also sometimes i can not get to the door as fast as I need to so when someone rings the doorbell it alerts my smart phone and I can see who it is and talk to them even if I am not at home. As you see though it does detect movement in certain zones and starts recording so when a package is delivered it alerts me and records the movement.

I had a few problems setting it up and was getting a lot of false alerts caused by cars going by but think I have it set now. I did see that the recording started when the USPO driver pulled into my driveway so that is good.

I would have been very pissed if that package had been a lens or my D750 or even some replacement dishes my wife ordered recently.

That could easily be my mailman. He refuses to walk the last few feet and throws the packages down. Not just mine, he does it to everyone. I'm sure our packages go through much worse at the sorting stations, but this is very disrespectful to the customer. He won't make eye contact or say hello to anyone either, he's truly miserable. I really can't stand the guy. One for throwing the packages, and two for scanning them delivered when they are not here. I track closely and call the local office when he screws up and they make him come back. He's made snide remarks about me calling, but hey, do your job right and I won't call.

Honestly, I don't see this as being that bad. It surely isn't as bad as the packages are tossed about during the entire process.

This is why we pack items well prior to shipping them :)

:mad:::what::they are very much tossed around I've seen it first hand when i worked there.
They do not care about customer service.
I would have that all over you tube and send a link to your to the post master in charge of that area.
I spent 18 bad years there. in the usps. Had to wait for my daughter to grow up.

My carrier bent a well-packaged vintage print and jammed it into my mailbox. It took brute force to bend that thick cardboard, and the package was clearly marked , "do not bend." It did cause a small crease on the edge of the print.
I reported it, but they acted like they didn't care.

The carrier we have now is really nice, and doesn't just toss the packages around. Any deliveries are put neatly in the corner of the entrance. He also keeps doggie treats in his truck.

Already sent it to USPS and got a call from the post master. She was very nice but we will see how it goes.

I hope they don't just tell you what you want to hear. Back when I worked at the postal service they wouldn't do anything about it. Just give you some p.r. bull.

I have to admit though in the UK we have some bad delivery services, one being YODEL ... Here the guy clearly wanted to throw it OVER the house so that it was in a "Safe Place" aka back garden ...

Well he failed ...
