Well my Grandpa died yesterday at the age of 98.
He was a WWII vet he went in through Italy when they stormed Juno Beach and I thank him for that.

My Grandma was a War Bride and her and my Mom(@2 years old) came to Canada from Scotland.
Grandpa met up with them after the war. Grandma passed away a long time ago.

I made my kids sit down and listen to his stories of the war and why we have such a great country to live in.

Thanks Grandpa and RIP

If anyone has a drink in thier hand lets all cheers my Grandpa.

My dad died a couple of years ago at age 99. What that generation went through with the Great Depression and WWII was very difficult. It built a generation of people with great character. Cheers (with a cup of coffee) to your grandfather!

Yes he was a Hero and I want to take a pic of his metals just need my mom to find them after this is all done and they get back from Florida (yes they are here now but will fly back down after the funeral)

My dad died about 10 years ago but he would have been in his 90s now. He was in WWII and was severely wounded at Anzio Beachhead in Italy. Those injuries and the war impacted him his entire life. I do believe that that generation was one of the strongest generations in a long time and shaped a lot of where we are now.

I am so sorry for your loss but you can look back on what a great life he had and remember all the good memories you had with him. That is what I do with both my mom and dad.
