I could do without Christmas this year,

Looking for a new tripod, and maybe a new wide angled lens, but buying Christmas presents puts a dent in the camera accessories budget.

We dont buy for each other only for grandkids,i dont have any but Nancy has 6 and she started buying in September and has been finished for a while,we tend to buy for ourselves as a joint decision.

I would have thought that if you had no bills, you would take a trip somewhere sunny and kiss the UK goodbye for a while.

Myself, I'm pretty much done with gear now. After this 200-500mm I'll be set. I have the awesome D750, the awesome 24-120mm and soon the awesome 200-500mm.
I might add a 20mm 1.8 at some point, but I'm not at all fascinated with the holy trinity thing at all.
I would be much happier taking a once in a lifetime trip to Alaska.

We do the same as @mikew. Just buy for the grandkids. The wife and I buy what we want when we want, and can afford. We were thinking about another weekend get away to Niagara Falls. But the new stove/range we just bought took care of that idea!

You're welcome anytime. Plenty of space here. We also have something that we call The Sun. It is a big giant yellow shiny thing that can reduce your ISO and bump your shutter speed by as much as 3-4 stops.;)

That is good. A few weeks ago my local camera shop had a D4 with 33k actuations and a spare Nikon battery for £1800. I was soooo close to pulling the trigger, i had it it the basket with my credit card in front of me, and thought, do i really need it? and backed out. Needless to say it had sold overnight. The best priced D4 I've seen recently online was one that was going for £2300 with 66k actuation's and not as good condition. My local always seem to undervalue D3S's and D4's, i wish they had them in more often

Yep, i bet you could arrange quite the tour, start down south at Marilynne's, head over to Blacktop's, work your way up my place and then head out west. We would hook you right up. :)
