I know what this is..... it is the first camera I every bought 44 years ago. I still have it and it still looks and works like new. Nikon F 35mm with a FTN meter on top.

Pretty much. First it's cut in half and then the edges are cut on a table saw to make it 8 sided. Then it's turned to shape on a lathe to reveal a Celtic Knot.
