To all of the "American" members on here "Happy Fourth of July" to you all, my wife and I have spent quite a few very memorable July 4th's in the U.S. - last one was on the island of Kauai HI ... lots of good memories.

Most countries can say they have a history to be proud of,we have one to be ashamed of.

That's OK. I only had about 20 ancestors who fought with the Continental Army. But I also have some relatives living on your little part of the world, including Princes William and Harry who are my 7th cousins twice remover. ( my claim to fame) Oz

Sorry to hear you say that, Mike. Times change and so do norms. We have a thing here in the US called "ex post facto" that needs to be applied to more than just law these days. I'm sure that we could find issues from the past for just about everywhere in the world that don't meet today's standards. There's no use being ashamed of them; just learn from them. And remember that since tomorrow's standards will likely be different than today's are, it doesn't mean today's are wrong.

And happy Fourth of July to everyone, ... wherever you are.
