if it was done, sorry, saw it a while ago and saw a post about cleaning the sensor so I thought id let others know how canon guys do it. were not as advanced as canon and dont have their level of ater protection. so only do this with canon gear.

That's a horrible video. The soap will remove essential lubrication from parts in the lens and body, causing premature wear. He should use a dust-free bowl too when soaking. ;)

That is awful even if it is just a canon! Lol I wonder if any of it will work again, if it worked in the first place! :)

Blue is NOT the right color for the Bowl Wash...Translucent Red Bowls help remove the UV residue, and the CP shadows left on the lens....

But, wasn't it proven that using a red bowl for cleaning a Canon cause a chemical reaction due to the dye used for the red color. I know I heard it somewhere. Besides, was the soap an approved soap from canon? Otherwise it isn't under warranty.

Water and soap are for the faint hearted. I clean up the gunk with WD40 and put a generous amount of turtle wax to make the body body shine. ; p

A glass bowl with distilled water is recommended. Some people say apple cider vinegar is a good organic way to kill microbes too. And no gloves? What was he thinking?!

Frankly I think it's much easier with parts cleaner, it really gets the gunk off! Just get a wire brush and dunk the camera in parts cleaner or gas if that's all you have, and brush the hell out of it! With a little elbow grease you can clean it right down to the magnesium frame! :p

It's okay; that person wasn't long for this world anyway.

On a related topic: Does anyone know if the D750 is top-rack dishwasher safe?

....

Only if you use:

It keeps your colors sensitive.
