Newbie dipping my feet into DSLR land...

So, I've been wanting a "real" camera for a while. Long story, short... a good friend hooked me up with a D2Xs, he didn't need anymore. Also, loaned me a couple of lenses for the time being.

I have been busy getting used to this thing before I go on vacation with the rest of the family to Disney World and Kennedy Space Center next week.

Just sayin' "Hi!"

Yeah. I was floored when he said the camera is mine. I know it is a damn good camera. I just had to pick up some new batteries. The two he gave me were toast.

Here are the two lenses on loan...

Then last weekend I went and grabbed this (used) at Dan's Camera City, while I was visiting my folks in PA.

I have 2 of those lenses as you can see in my signature both are excellent.....actually the 50 1.4 AF D is astounding.

With useable ISO 400 the limit you will need bright light to shoot the 70-300 AF-S VR

Enjoy!

BTW all the owners manuals for your 3 Nikon bits are avail on Nikon USA web site! Shooting AF is a bit tricky with the D glass (on that lens you need to lock the aperture ring at F16 and push up the little bitty switch)

Not right now... but I am heading to the Smoky Mountains in April. Might have to make a midnight run to the Foothills parkway if there is a clear night.

You have a nice friend. Good to keep that friend around. Don't mess up their glass (best advice when borrowing from friends).

my favorite shot from our first morning there. I was up early for some dumb-reason, so walked down to the resort's loading dock to catch the sunrise on the lake.
