Quiet day at work

Well seeing as it is a very quiet day today I have decided to connect to my home computer via 'Teamviewer' and start organising and sorting my photo's as they are in a mess. This also includes creating a new LR catalogue and then deleting the old ones. Fun fun fun :)

Good luck with that, I'd just be sidetracked looking at all the photos. I got lost the other day just looking at the ones in your flickr page, some outstanding shots there. I imagine that's just a tiny part of your catalogue.

It's a job I've been "meaning to do" for a while...
cheers

The next job is to start weeding out the crappy shots, thats a lot of photos to go through...

Well you made that hard on yourself. It's easy for me, I only have about 5 good shots

Do you ever go over the old ones and try to pp them differently?
Yes I do, in fact I will start going through each year collection and edit the ones that I want to keep. Due to the changes I have made I will lose all my previous adjustments. But that is not a bad thing.

I'd love to be that organised. I struggle to wear matching socks, because I can't organise one small drawer, so I know it's just not going to happen.

I am not that organised, but with all these photos I wanted to be sure I could keep track of them and have backups that were easy to do. I think this method will be ideal. But I think it will take awhile to build those previews (16000'ish) but I still have 4hrs of work left. Next step will be sorting out my macbook, I will strictly be using that for storage and ensure that I transfer any photos from it to my external HDD's on my iMac.

Sounds stressful, but really interesting. You could get some amazing imagery from a mining site, but I'm not sure it's the kind of environment that's too friendly to camera equipment. Do you like it there?

Yeah it is good as it is based in a National Heritage National Park :). But being an Uranium mine we have strict policies.
