Working in the healthcare field you see some wondrous things but also some things that really tear at your heart. I had such a patient this evening, For reasons for which I am both professionally and legally bound I can say very little, but this particular patient is in her mid 40's and has non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a very deadly form of cancer with a high mortality rate at her age. Chemotherapy has severely compromised her immune system at a time of year when people are often at most risk of getting sick. Her prognosis for 5 years from now is poor. I ask you to keep her in your prayers. God knows who she is, you don't need to know her name.

I feel for ya buddy. I also work in healthcare. I will keep you both both in my prayers.

The job we do isn't something we can always just walk away from and not be changed.

I see doctors nurses and others who work in the field who are very indifferent but I wonder how they really are behind closed doors. im certain many have a good cry at the end of the day. otherwise they couldnt be human. and being humane is why they got into it in the first place.

My thoughts are with this lady and all her carers.
We are going through something very similar with my mother at the moment... blood clots on her lungs stopped her Chemo in August, but now she has been given the "all-clear" to restart the chemo... without which she wont make it... horrible time of the year to be doing this (as if there is any "good time" to be doing it!)

I really dont know how the nurses and hospital staff stay cheerful, but when I am there with my mum on her "day-patient" chemo days, the staff are always cheerful, kind and so helpful... so a special heartfelt thanks to staff in that career field
