Me too... love to get more than my 300 for wildlife.... course my budget and CFO may argue with me! :)

Pat in NH

Now that I'm selling prints, the CFO can't mess with me! My business account is all mine :)

My longest lens is the 200, kinda glad I haven't gone after anything else yet. If it's good, at that price I may need one :)

Can't wait to read some reviews!

I can't wait to get my paws on one. I have the luxury of a local camera store letting me take gear out for a spin around the block. When they get one in, I'll trot down there with my D600 and laptop. I'm already budgeting for one.

At that price I may just get it to test out. Pretty big range though so will be interesting how it fares at the long end.

Will do. But it may be a while after the official release. They just got their first Df in yesterday. I went in today and they said they had me Df. I said, "Great, I'll take it!" He said it would be $3000. I said, "No, I don't need to pay for it... you said it was mine any way......."

Being able to actually test drive gear without having to pay for it is a big plus in my book for mom-and-pop (well, in this case, 3 generations) brick & mortar stores.

$1069 in the USA, I guess that means they'll slug us about $1869 here:p

I had a bit of a play with a friends Sigma 150-500 the other day (had to use it on his Canon though :apologetic: ). Since then I have been wondering if I should just go for one of the long zooms instead of the 300 f4 that I have been saving for.
I will be watching this with interest, thats for sure.

Wonder if a prime 600 would sell at that price,it has to be easier to make and no more of a specialist market than that one.

I read somewhere that Sigma was going to bring out some long prime lenses next year, it will be interesting to see how they are priced.
