Yup, and also it is a good idea if you disable VR when you are changing lenses. The deactivation causes that the stabilizing lens element locks, which prevent damage to the lens when it is changed. :peaceful:

I believe the VR system should lock on its own when the camera is turned off, which you should do when changing lenses anyway. Just give the lens a few seconds after power down for the VR elements to stop before removing the lens. You should also have the camera off when you mount the lens. Either method works.
