Do you name your gear?

Do you give names names to your gear? For instance, is your camera a D60 or is it George or Margaret? I know some people refer to their Tamrons and Sigmas as Tammy and Siggy. How about nicknames, like I refer to my 2000mm as Little Hubble.

Nope

I do not, BUT my wife has names for my gear. Whenever I'm tinkering with it she'll call it "the precious". I'm sure when I'm not around she has other nicknames... like the moneypit.

Celestron 2000 f/8

Nikon did it for me...

I used to back in the film days with my first camera... a brownie. I called it my baby. After that.. nothing has come to mind. Now I just say my d600... d5200 etc.

Only when I am cussing at it.

I call mine the D5100. My wife calls it "That camera"

No. I don't even name my guitars or basses, and they're far closer to animate for me.

My car is called jeepy for some reason....and I've a toy stuffed cat called Garfield ...

I keep the "Name game" limited to children and pets.

I'm with Pillythat I only name kids pets and people that have pissed me off

My wife used to call the D40 'Little Nik' and the D200 'Big Nik'. Since I got the D300, she just calls them by their real names.
