Anyone have Amazon Prime and love it?

I do! I can't say how much I love using Amazon Prime. I use it all the time. Not just for the free 2 day shipping, which is sometimes 1 day shipping, but I recently canceled my cable and use the video app for my Playstation to watch movies and shows (I also use Hulu, and an app called Playon) I also added some relatives (friends) to my account and split the cost with them, which is $80 a year.

By the way, if you want to try it out, Amazon has a free 30 day trial. If anything, just sign up and set a date on your calendar to cancel if you don't find yourself using it.

Prime more than pays for itself in a few orders with the free shipping. It's awesome.
Agreed.

Now, that being said, if *everything* Amazon sold was eligible for 'Prime, I'd be a totes happy camper, but that's not the case. There's a lot of stuff on Amazon that does not qualify for 'Prime and that can sorta put me in Stabby Mode, Condition Alpha. I've also had issues with some of their partners in the "Amazon Marketplace" but overall 'Prime doth rock. About 1/2 the time I get my stuffs next day because there's a hub or whatever just a couple hours north of me.

I live on Amazon... and have had a Prime account since the first day they offered it... I've never had a problem that wasn't resolved within minutes, and am a loyal, continuous customer...

No I don't use Amazon Prime. It is expensive and I can wait for few days.

If you need something next day, you can always create a new id and start a trial.

Yeah, I seek out things that are prime eligible. If they're not then I'm mad :)

True, or you can just bug a friend to put you on their account :)

As I was typing this something I ordered arrived. In this case I really needed the two day to work with my schedule.

My son has it a swears by it. He tried to get me involved and the wife and I did a trial but did not use it enough to warrant the cost. I do believe if you use it enough, it is worth it. I just did not...

I use my daughters account (she has no problem spending enough to make it worth it). I think its worth it if you use it often enough. I like the free movies, ebooks and tv shows as well. Comes in handy sometimes when work is boring. P.S. Sometimes I find a deal I want that isn't prime eligible for shipping and wait the extra day or too. We sure are an instant gratification spoiled society.

I buy on Amazon a lot and don't use Prime. I agree with above, I'd rather wait a day or two more and have free shipping when available.

It's like the 'premium' membership at Costco for me LOL

The best part of Prime is not having to wait until you have enough items to get free shipping. It's a bargain hunters dream. When something drops to a great price I don't need to wait until I have $25 worth of stuff; I can place my order instantly and not worry about the price increasing while I look for more.

We use it. Several packages a week come here. Not all traditional amazon stuff: washing machine parts came today. Weed whacker parts last week. Good price on my particular oil filter so I get those there too. Bought a memory foam mattress for my daughter last week. Pretty much anything we need that has a good price on it. I know it was too good to last as-is though, many lower priced items that we used to order all the time have become 'add-on' items which means they won't sell it to you unless you spend $25. I wish they would rethink that and come up with another way. I'd be willing to accept slower shipping or pay a reduced shipping charge on these items, but as it is now, you simply can't buy the add-on item without spending $25. I've come to like ordering stuff as I need it without shipping charge or minimum order. I realize there comes a point when they are losing money on me shipping me small items one at a time.

The streaming movies and shows are a plus too, but we get our money's worth on the free shipping and priority no-minimum handling.

Why are you all working so hard at making me feel out of place? …or time?

I would rather buy from my local Nikon dealership! This family operated business
has treated me and the folks of our photo clubs very well, with all their heart,
for the last 17 years.

They are competent, fast, not sucking the penny out of your wallet…

This is a wide spread strategy:
get the info at your local dealer because they take the time
and then buy on the net!

What will happen when all these small operations will have closed?

Support your local dealer!

Great point. I do try to shop locally when I can. I find my local camera store did not carry the lighting gear I was after, they have more expensive alternatives and I turn to the online dealers. I bought my D40 and 55-200 direct from Nikon but my 50mm from my local store and my 18-105 used from a Nikonites member :)

It's not even about cameras, or Nikons. It's about the wide variety of things you can get off of Amazon. I purchase way too much on there, and Prime is absolutely worth it. I would spend more than that on just gas hunting around for good deals, or even just availability of a product, and Amazon is almost always cheaper.

Kodiak,

I do buy a lot of stuff (not just cameras) on Amazon but also believe in the locals... I wanted to buy a bag recently, found a camera shop that had it in several sizes so I could see it. They took the time to show me, I bought it there!!! I will normally do that with any product. If I use the local shops expertise, I but from them!

BAM! So *very* much all of the above. Amazon managed to build a better mousetrap.
