Hello everyone

I did wedding photography for 9 years. my gear was stolen (no insurance that year unfortunately) and had to change careers. anyways im getting my gear together.

thinking of the small things.

-chargers- I live overseas and need a 220v. was looking at the tenergy 12 cell w w w .amazon.com/Tenergy-TN160-12-Bay-Battery-Charger/dp/B006ML9SO0
I need something that can charge them with 6-8 as I might have day after day weddings. I plan on working for photogs at first.

-batteries. saw the legendary eneloops. too expensive for my pocket right now. even with ebay discount prices when looking around I will need tons of them. so please no eneloops. not now anyways. something cheaper. all in all I will need 10 for SB800, 8 for yongnuo, 6 for d7000 grip and 8 for d300s grip and an extra 8 JIC. so 40 in total. glass all nikkor 2.8's zooms

-memory cards. im set with the d300s. just need SD for d7000. was thinking to use multiple smaller sized cards 4 or 8gb instead of 16 for precautionary measure. looking to get it through ebay but im guessing there are so many counterfeit.I just wanted to ask if someone can recommend a vendor they bought from?

-card reader-have a transcend TS-RDF8

Anything else im missing?

Just curious why you are using AA's in your grips? You could sure step down the number of AA's by using standard nikon camera batteries. I only use the AA's in my strobes. The D300s will be the hardest on batteries but the new D7000 will give you lots of shots. I usually carry a fresh one in the camera body and two charged spares for each body. Great choice for lenses.

AA batteries adds significant weight to your camera. Even though I refuse to use a grip when doing a photo shoot, my arms are toast by the time it's over. I just keep a couple Lithium batteries with me and have no problem getting through a day-long photo shoot. I can't imagine how much worse it would be if I had a grip filled with AA batteries. Ugh..!!

BTW I use 16 & 32 GB cards (D800 Raw gobbles up memory) and buy from either B&H or even some from Amazon. I got ripped of on ebay memory cards, not worth the gamble.

Hi Dave. weight isnt a problem. I have been bodybuilding strictly for 3 years straight now. I like the heft. I was using F5's/2.8 zooms before I stopped. I really do like the weight. but also I dont have the luxury to buy things I can use now and get away with. these are the small things I can buy later. but all these small things add up. maybe later on.

Hi Bill. I just saw Newegg sells on ebay and theyre selling Mushkin 8gb SD cards. will get 4. I like that company. been a fan since the 90's. just confused on batteries. I had energizers before I think 1850MAH. I dont need the highest MAH either 2000-2400 will be fine. maybe powerex or energizers again.

some of my work

I always use grips but with camera batteries. I have never used more than two batteries, usually just one each body. I have the 24-70 and 14-24 mounted and only use the 70-200 for the long shots. I usually have my flash at 1/4 or 1/8 power for fill, they recycle real fast and I only use one set of batteries normally.
