I'm not sure why the 80-200 image is upside down, the pictures taken with it come out the right way up at least!

Not a purchase...it just takes too long to get approval for posts in the Deals subforum. Today only B&H has the Tokina AT-X 116 Pro DX-II 11-16mm f/2.8 lens on sale for $329.00. Is anyone looking to do holiday shopping early?

So far I've only use the MagSphere with the MagGrip. It is SOOO easy to use. I picked up the MagBeam when Allen's Camera ran a sale on Saturday but haven't yet tried it.

The AD200 is on my list for the holidays. Please let me know how you like it, Paul.

Paul, I am sure it would work with the speed light attachment. In fact, they have tested it. Here is the link to FAQs for the issue. They do not say anything about the open bulb. https://support.magnetmod.com/hc/en-...with-my-flash-

I am not as sure about the bare bulb attachment. The Grip just stretches over the speed light head and every attachment just clicks in place. I have to say I do like using it. I am just getting started using a speed light and I am learning. I have used the sphere and the bounce and both have worked well at my church where the lighting is challenging.

I can't say enough about the AD200. Just to nitpick on it, though, the AD200 is a tad heavy (2 pounds with battery) and it feels a little bulky to me. Sometimes I wish it was hot-shot compatible, but in reality who want's a two-pound speedlight in the hot-shoe?

On the plus side, one AD200 has an output that is equivalent to three V860II's and that... Is a whooooole lotta light. Output in TTL mode seems very consistent but in all fairness I don't use TTL all that much; I typically will take a single TTL shot to establish a baseline exposure and then switch to manual. The battery seems to last forever on a full charge and at lower power settings like I typically use (e.g. 1/8, 1/16) the recycle time is essentially instantaneous for as many shots as I've ever needed. Since the AD200 is shaped like an on-camera speedlight it accepts my existing gels kit and and my Rogue 3-in-1 flash-grid, which is kinda nice. You also get two (yes, two) 1/4" x 20 threaded sockets; fancy that!! This is actually really handy, at least for me, because it means I can attach a QD plate to the AD200 and use a tripod/ball-head as a light stand, which I do frequently. Finally, and I'll admit it took me a while to figure this bit out, the bare-bulb head is just the ticket when using an umbrella or softbox (d'oh!).

Since this is your second AD200, are you going to use them together in a softbox with this dual flash bracket? It's what I want to get down the road, but since I don't even have one AD200 yet, it's quite a ways down that road.

That's a pretty awesome looking mount but it's not something I would need personally. For $150 a single Godox SK400 would put out the same wattage (versus $600 for two AD200's). The downside is the SK400 runs off AC power instead of a battery and, of course, they're larger and bulkier. I'd use strobes myself but running electrical cords in a dance studio is not something I like having to do. Still, if I was shooting outdoors, needed to put 400 watts on a relatively small area and AC power was out the question, that mount would be a handy thing indeed.

The reason I'm getting a second AD200 is because I want to better illuminate large, open-floor dance studios. My primary location has a 15' ceiling (fortunately it's white) which I bounce off of routinely. One AD200 does a pretty good job but it can only do "so much" in these cavernous studios. Using two AD200's, placed at opposite ends of the studio should give me more loads more control over both the amount of light being put out and its directionality. Something I'm very much looking forward to.

Just pulled the trigger on an AF 135mm f/2D lens and B+W XS-Pro C-Pol for doing more vehicle photography.... Can't wait! Recently saw the crazy power of a Nikon 200mm f/2 mounted on a D850 and I was absolute awestruck at the photo's it produced. If only I had $6k lying around for a lens, holy crap that is absolute perfection.
