Congratulations, Walt. It's definitely different since it doesn't have the mode dial on the top left. Usually on my bodies I switch between BBF in Manual Mode with Auto ISO or Aperture Priority using the shutter button for focusing. With this one, I set it up as the first option and haven't yet had to change it. If I did, I'd have to look at the owner's manual to figure out how to switch to the other setting I usually use.

04-02-2021, 10:29 PM #6096Nikon "Four Day Refurbished Sale!"
Got an email this morning announcing this sale. Now, it isn't like I need more cameras and/or lenses but, as we all know, "need" often has nothing to do with buying gear. The back story is that I've been toying with the idea of getting a used D3500 just for grins.
Anyway, while I was sipping my first cup of coffee, I logged into the Nikon website to see what was available. I checked the box to display DSLRs but didn't see a D3500 in the list. Ok, no big deal but while I was already on-line, I decided to have a look at lenses. As I scrolled through the list, lo and behold, there was a D3500 with the AF-P DX 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR kit lens. For the pair, and with a 10% discount also applied, the cost was about half of the MSRP for a new D3500 body.
Too good a deal to pass up.I think I'll dig out the AF-S FX 24-120mm f/4G ED VR I got with my D750 (I replaced it with a Tamron AF 35-150mm F/2.8-4 Di VC OSD). That will make a nice 2 lens kit to play with.

Bluzman, Wish you enjoy (grin from ear to ear) playing with the D3500. I got a new one with two kit lenses for $400 + tax at the end of 2019. So far, I'm happy with it.

Thanks.
After I posted yesterday, I began looking around my den to see what other gear I might have that I could use with the D3500. I found a 64GB SDXC card and a Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G that I'd forgotten I had. Woohoo!

A quick update: the big brown truck delivered the refurbished D3500 this afternoon. I had ordered, received, and fully charged a couple of spare batteries so I was able to dive right into the setup process. The camera is now configured for shooting AF-C using back button focus. I took a picture and checked for shutter count. Counting my shot, the shutter count is 2.

That shutter count is unbelievable! Please post MANY photos taken by it. Thanks
