I was out looking at the large white blossoms on a magnolia tree in front of my house when I saw this little fellow. He was busily gather bee pollen to feed his compadres back at the hive.

Worker bees are female. The only male bees are drones, which exist only for reproductive purposes. The stinger is actually an adapted form of an ovipositor, a distinctly female organ in insects which in its more common form among other sorts of insects, is used to lay eggs.
