    Big Cat Refuge

For the last several years, I've belonged to a social group made up of retired guys, 99.99% geezers, which until mid-March 2020, met on Monday mornings for coffee and fellowship. There are about 200 members and, in the course of any year, we organize visits to interesting businesses and organizations around the area. Our meeting have recently resumed and this week, a dozen of us visited a refuge for exotic big cats...lions, tigers, cheetahs, leopards, etc. Here's a link to the website: https://www.insyncexotics.org/

The cats are permanent residents at the facility. They've come there as the result of things like abuse, neglect, and abandonment. It was thrilling to see these cats up close but it was also sad to hear the reasons that had caused them to be there.

These images are not what one would characterize as typical of those posted on the Nikonites Forum. They were hard to get because all of the big cat enclosures are framed in with double chain link fences. Between the two fences are walkways for the folks who feed and maintain these beautiful creatures. I had to use what Panasonic calls "pinpoint" autofocusing and aim through holes in the chain links. There were a lot of images that were trash but these are the keepers.
