Re: No market for DX cameras, or so we are told

In all seriousness, I'm thinking of buying a D500 body or two before they disappear. If I treat them well, I may not need another camera in my lifetime.

Does Canon offer any type of pro DX body? Or is Nikon the only manufacturer with a pro DSLR body?

Well, there's the 32.5 MP Canon EOS 90d.
Pro? What does that even mean anymore? Its weather sealed, shoots 10FPS in RAW auto focuses down to -3ev and costs over a grand. BUT, it only has 1 card slot so it must not be pro. (LOL!)

I see Niikon are admitting the limits of IBIS with the new 70-200 f2.8

Not sure any manufacturer now supports repairs on modern cameras for long enough now

You know, realistically, if the D500 or DXYZ is meeting your needs why not do what you are talking about Woody. That body is designed and optimized around the very thing you enjoy shooting the most. As long as you can handle the weight it will serve you well and a couple extra bodies will be kind of handy as you exceed the shutter and button life.

I think the Z6 is very close to that camera for me... It does pretty much every thing I want. I love the IBIS because it extends the my ability to hand hold shots. I like the WYSIWYG because I can use ND filters and still adjust for focus and exposure and see what your result will be except for how the water may look.

As for the the "no market for DX" claim?? I really cannot figure out that foolishness. If that were the case why would Nikon have built a DX mirrorless. The Z50 is getting a lot of attention and this new sales gimmick of "try it you will buy it" makes sense to me. It is better than renting one to see if you like it.

Maybe he can wait a bit and the price will come down!
That was my thinking with the D7500 I picked up... I was happy with the D7100.

I did not know that. I suppose I will have to toss all my cameras in the bin and start over.
