Budget compact

I'm looking for a budget compact. Here's what I'm thinking
1. Less than $300
2. Can be slipped into shirt/or pants pocket
3. Decent image quality. Enough for an 8 x 10 print and social media
4. Wifi would be nice
5. Viewfinder would be nice

I have tried to find some good reviews but most sites seem to ignore the low budget compacts.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a couple that are close to your $300 budget, but may go a little over.

Suggestion one is the Fujifilm XQ2; no optical viewfinder but a smashing good compact, especially considering the price-point.

Suggestion two is the Canon PowerShot SX700 HS. Yes, a Canon. Also lacks an optical viewfinder but a superb little compact overall and great IQ. This model will fit in your jeans pocket, but miiiight be a little snug... Will slide into a jacket pocket no problem.

If you want solely Nikon recommendations I'm afraid you'll have to wait for someone else; I'm not terribly impressed by Nikon's offering in this arena.

Thanks for all the recommendations. It looks like I may need to go over my bugdet to find something I will like. So far I have 3 candidates in no particular order
1. Sony HX90V
2. Panasonic ZS50
3. Coolpix A.

The Coolpix I imagine has the best image quality but it is a fixed focal length. The Panasonic has seems to have less noise in low light than the Sony. The Sony has an articulating screen, has gps built in and is truly pocketable. From what I have seen in the reviews I do not think there is a huge difference IQ wise between the Sony and the Panasonic.

If anyone has any experience with the Sony or the Panasonic I would like some comments on the quality of the viewfinder.

I ended up with a Coolpix A recently as well.

Lack of a viewfinder and wifi does not fit your initial criteria.
If you can do with out that and live with the fixed focal length, it's a great little camera.
