Hi guys fairly new to the world of photography i have a nikon 5100 with a standard 18-55 lens, nikkor 50mm 1.8 and a tamron 70-300 tele macro 4-5.6. I run a bar and nightclub so i figure its the perfect place to learn how to take club photos with out worrying about making mistakes so I'm looking at buying a new lens maybe a sigma 24-70 2.8 or a sigma 17-50 2.8 and i will need a flash but they are kinda expensive but I'm looking at a nikon sb700 if any one has any thoughts or recommendation they would be grateful

Hi genralm, welcome to Nikonites. Congrats on the new D5100. I'm sure you'll get plenty of use out of it. Great camera. I applaud your choices. I would recommend the 24-70 lens and the SB700 flash. Both are awesome. I always recommend the SB700 flash to anyone who asks. Amazingly easy to use. I recommend using Eneloop AA batteries with it. You'll love it.

Hi and welcome...SB-700 would be a good choice...Have a look at the Nikon 35mm F1.8 or 50mm F1.4 or F1.8, with these lens you could grab some shots without the flash..Sometimes flash photography "spoils" the atmosphere of a club shot...

Something to think about and check out reviews...
