Hi All, Just a quick intro, been lurking for a whilst now so decided it was time to join up.

I'm from the Northeast of England and started dabbling with photography around a year ago whilst working in Texas, at the time using a Fujifilm S3300 bridge camera. I quickly began to reach limitations with it and so I bought myself my first SLR a few months ago, a D3100 with 18-55 kit lens and tamron 70-300 telephoto. I've since added a Nikon Series E 50mm prime to the collection along with Tripod, gorillapod, remote shutter control and a couple of filters (UV, CPL and ND).

I like to shoot city scapes, landscapes and macro and am currently starting to explore astrophotography, when possible. Not so easy living in the city!

Anyhow, I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hi there Marko!

It appears we have a couple of things in common... I too have been lurking around - altho only for a week or so
I also have been shooting with a bridge camera the last year (HS20 EXR)
And I'm also originally from uk... but the north west, manchester to be exact.

I haven't made my nikon purchase yet but will be within the nxt couple of weeks. Look forward to seeing your photos :)

How did you find ur transition from Bridge to DSLR?
