After all this time...

So it begins... Again... But this time, I have the money to go on.

It all started 20 some years ago with a Nikkormat FTN. Gary , my mentor (and old enough to be my grandpa), sold me one for a few bucks and showed me everything he knew in his fully equipped studio in Ottawa. So there I was, teenager, penny-less, living at my mom's and playing with Mamyia's, Hasselblad's, and some other medium format crazyness that I still can't afford (well ok, I would have to sell my car...). A few years of fun with the old Japanese camera and then, during a cold winter carnival, the shutter kidda exploded in the cam throwing fragments of curtain across the film... Pfffff, still can't explain that one... So that was the end of my photography days.

Until a few years ago where I turned to the dark side and bought my first digi. Konica Minolta DiMAGE G600 shot a few good ones, then there was the Canon Powershot A720A that made cute movies and recently another Powershot SD780IS, slighly bigger than a credit card. Man theses things are getting smaller by the hour...

But still, I had something missing from the good old days, so a few weeks ago, I went for a D90. Playing with this big mama reminded me of Gary and his nasty tricks so I digged in my wife's old boxes and found her dusty Full manual Pentax K1000.

Basically now, I shoot everyday things with the Nikon and I dedicate the artistic-only-black-and-white-Ilford-HP5 crave to the Pentax.

Glad to have found this super cool forum group!
