Hi Friends

I am a guy from Mumbai .. who loves travelling and clicking photographs (all from normal digital camera)
later on seeing other I decided to get a DSLR . And after a long debate I have chosen Nikon D5100 and got it 4 days back.

I am following this site for quite some time and now a member with a Nikon DSLR in hand.

Dont know how to use it .. but I am sure , with the guidance from you experts , I will also be able to make a proper use of my 5100.

Thanks

Hey Sky. Welcome. Like you, I bought my DSLR and knew nothing about it. Probably the most important part of learning that camera is the Manual, but check with the camera shop where you purchased it. See if they offer free classes on general operation. Look around for local classes or seminars on photography. Those will give you lots of hints. Shoot some photos in Auto Mode. Look and see what the Camera selected for ISO, Shutter and Aperture. Then experiment in Aperture Priority where you set the opening and the camera adjusts the speed. Most of all, Practice Practice Practice.
