Newbie with an inquiring mind!

Hello everyone just bought the D3100 last month and it is my first dslr. Feeling a little overwelmed but also very excited. I am looking forward to asking and getting answers to all the usual questions that us new to the dslr will ask. Please bear with me and remember you were once where I am now too!

Welcome to the forum. Make sure you read the user manual a few times and carry it with you in the beginning. Most of your answers should be in there somewhere. There is no secret but practice, practice, and some more practice.

Digital photography does not use film so experimenting is free once you own the camera and the post processing software. There is a lot of information and free tutoring on the web.

Overwhelmed is normal when starting out with in the DSLR world (and so is excited!). Please make yourself at home and fire away with all the questions you have - we're not a very judgmental group here - we've all been where you are before. (although many of the most common questions can be accessed by using the site's search function first).
