New here, but have been shooting Nikon for 40 years, mainly motorsports, football, baseball, basketball.

Have Nikkormats, Nikon F, F2A, F3, FE-2, 24/2, 35/2, 50 1.4, 55 1.2, 85 1.4, 105 2.5, 180 2.8, 400 3.5, Metz 60ct4.

Bought a D7100 in 2013 but just really didn't get into it, 11/16 2.8 Tokina, 55-300, 14-140, 50 1.8G, SB-910.
I also have a Coolpix A900 that is sometimes phenominal.

I managed to get a few really nice scenics from the Southwest USA a couple years ago, but still cannot seem to get enamored with digital.

Then I decided if I am going travel this Summer, I need a backup body and I managed to find a mint D600 and a 24-140 F4 for great prices, hopefully I will stop there.
Yes, I know, you will tell me I should have bought an 810 or an 850, but the images from my D7100 were fine, and for as much as I
shoot I simply could not justify the extra cost...

For the record, I truly hate auto-anything, be it autofocus or autoexposure, I can generally look at something and know the exposure within a half-stop.

And I know I could/should add this stuff to my equipment list, I just didn't.

Welcome! I'm not sure anyone here would harangue you over your choice of camera body - that D600 is quite a capable bit of kit still! All the best, and I'm looking forwards to seeing your upcoming travel pics.
