Greetings from London, UK

I am from the UK and bought my first Nikon (film) camera last year: a lovely F4, which is a pleasure to use. I am moving over from the Olympus E-3 and aim eventually either buy a D700 or possibly its successor - if it suits my needs. I was introduced to Nikon through the use of Nikkor lenses for large format cameras, which along with Schneider lenses, I have been using for landscape photography in Norway.

I have been into photography since I was a small boy, using the following cameras (in chronological order):

Kodak Instamatic (aged around 7)
FED 4 (35mm rangefinder)
Olympus OM20, then an OM1, then an OM2s, then the digital E-1, and finally the digital E-3 ø
MPP 5x4 camera - later sold
Mamiya C330s twin lens reflex, medium format camera
Ebony 45SU large format (5x4) camera ø
Mamiya 645 Pro TL medium format camera (SLR) ø
Nikon F4 ø
Mamiya 7 medium format rangefinder ø

ø = still used

Welcome to the forum thingy! Quite an impressive array of cameras, I think I've only heard of about 3 of them...I definitely hope to visit London one day, I can only imagine all the opportunities for great photography there!

Hello sir...welcome to Nikonites. You won't find a whole lot of film folks around here but I am one and the rest of these people are very gracious and tolerant!

The F4 is an awesome camera! I have a F2.

Post up some pics and join in the talk...
