My user name is DrRodr88.

I retired from a counseling job that I loved due to health issues. I've been interested in photography since I was stationed in Germany in 1979 and bought an Olympus OM-1 that I had for 20 years until someone stole it. I used an OM-2 for a while but not as much as the OM-1. I used a point and shoot digital for a long time. For Christmas 2014 our son gave me a D3100 with an 18-55mm and 55-200mm lenses. In 2016 I started taking pictures of birds and in 2018 bought a D5200. In April of 2020 I bought a D3300 that my wife uses. COMET NEOWISE has started an interest in nighttime landscapes. We have lived in New Mexico since 1999 and really love the scenery and opportunities for photography.

Mostly I try to keep a positive attitude. Life is good. Somethings in life are not good, but life is good.

I look forward to reading and learning from others.

Welcome. My wife and I love New Mexico. We live in Colorado so the drive isn't bad to get there. Good to have you on board. :)

Hi,

Just saw your mail by chance bit wanted to respond to it.

Sorry to read of your health problems and (ugh) that your OM-1 was stolen!!! I have/had an OM-2 but always wanted the OM-1 which was much simpler and not reliant on battery (I believe they called it the missionary camera because missionaroes would take it to wild places!).

Anyway - life is good - and it's terrible - it's all in the perspective - nurture inner peace. Read Viktor Frankl. And New Mexico! What a great place for getting away from people and to be in unavoidable nature. Are you a fan of Salgado?

Good luck and how wonderful those desert skies!!!
