Welcome! Is that Kiwi country? I think we've had others from your area. Nice to have you here. :)

So you want to learn manual mode? What experience do you have with either Auto, Program, Aperture, or Shutter modes? At least it will give us an idea of where you're at on the learning curve.

Morning all and Thankyou for your welcomes.
ive had experience only with a d3200, but only shot it in auto mode. Now I have a D750 I owe it to myself and the D750 to use it more than just auto mode.

Hi and welcome Mack , I have family in Christchurch , beautiful place look forward to some shots
Hi Skwaz, yes Christchurch is a lovely city. They have had some tough times over the last few years. With the two big earthquakes and recently with the mass shooting. Not good

What lens are you using? I’ve got a Nikon 18-35mm and are getting a sigma 60-600mm

I'm not Skwaz, but the Nikon kit lens, the 24-120mm f/4 VR, is a stellar lens. It's sharp, and the extra length over a 24-70mm f/2.8 is very handy.

If your 18-35mm is the f/3.5-4.5G version (not the AF-D), it too is a superb lens. :) But the 24-120mm f/4 VR pretty much lives on my D750. ;)

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like you are off to a good start. I will tell you I love the 70-200 f2.8 G2. I used it a lot on my 700 and I am now using it quite a bit on my new Z 6. It is a very sharp lens. Hope you enjoy it here.
