A total newbie, decided to start a new hobby, since we will be living wherever our truck parks our trailer for the night.

Hope to spend time in the desert during the rainy season, after living on the coast of (Florence)Oregon my whole life.

I have ordered a D3400, so my learning curve will be a % upwards.
Look forward to learning as much as possible from everyone here.

Howdy Barbara and welcome to Nikonites!!!

I'm envious! I've been trying to convince my wife that the truck and trailer life is a good way to go, but still working on convincing her!

That will be another learning curve also since, I won't be posting from a computer or laptop
All will be done from Camera to my smart phone. Tapatalk only

This will be our 1st full year of living in the trailer. We still have our house to put on the market in 2018 and our commercial property in 2019.. and several vehicles.. over the next year..
We had a 5 year plan starting in 2014..

Welcome to the Forum Barbra. This is a great place to learn. I started with a D3200 in a similar place and the folks here taught me to advance from all auto to all manual shooting and post-processing my RAW shots.

The only thread I would suggest you stay out of for a while is the "Latest Purchase" thread. It has a way of prying money out of your hand. :)

Looking forward to seeing some of your photos.

Welcome to nikonites.com.

If you're traveling, you might swing by Lakeland, Florida in February of next year to join a few of us in an annual photo session/social gathering. I believe we'll be there on or about the 21st and 22nd.

Whever you are, enjoy the trip and stay safe!
