Greetings & Salutations Nikonites!
I've been a lurker for awhile but wanted to join to officially say thank you! This is a very nice site and with all the informational posts and discussions you've helped me decide on my new camera setup.

I've anxiously awaited for the Black Friday deals and as soon as they did I pulled the trigger on a new D750 setup with a couple extras. I haven't purchased a camera(Besides smartphones with built in) in over 10 years and I'm tired of having only half decent pics of my family and hobbies. I'll eventually pickup some more glass (35 1.4 & 70-200 2.8) but the kits 24-120 and separate 85 I got should suite my needs just fine for now.

I'll admit, I was very close to picking up a Sony or Fuji mirrorless, but couldn't commit due to dependability issues I've read about and warranty concerns. For an extra $170 my body is protected for 3 years through Nikon and the lens are for 5 so this alone is one of the biggest factors for my decision, let alone the others such as battery life and dependability.

Cheers,
Larry

Welcome aboard. Enjoy the ride.
We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.

And congratulations, looks like a nice setup.

Welcome to the forum. The D750 is the best camera I have ever owned in over 35 years of photography. The 24-120 is a workhorse of a lens and great for all around shooting.

Now lets see some photos.

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

Thank you for the warm welcome all and thanks for the image uploading tip Don(btw I have a good friend with the last name as yours)!

I just started playing with this camera and am trying to learn all the controls and settings, it's a big learning curve for me as my last SLR was a 35mm so I think I may be taking advantage of the Auto settings for a bit :)

I'm passionate about cars and motorcycles and like to get good pics of my toys but now with decent equipment I'm going to see about taking pics of others while at meetups and events..

Here's 2 examples of pics with my phone that I want to redo with my D750:

See you'll in the other forums!

Hi and welcome, Larry. Camp Hill...I'm north of Philly and close to the Delaware River. Growing up my grandparents lived near Harrisburg although I don't know if I've ever been to Camp Hill.

Question on one of your items...is the Vello screen protector designed for the D750? The body has an articulating screen (moves around)--just checking to be sure it won't interfere when moving the screen.

The D750 is an amazing body! I love mine. :encouragement:

Howdy Larry, and welcome to Nikonites!!!

Looks like you got outfitted pretty dang well! The 24-120mm /f4 and 85mm /f1.8 are two of my favorite lenses, and I'm one of those guys who likes to have a battery grip on everything. Looking forward to seeing some of the images you capture shared over here!
