Hello!

Greetings.

New member here from Canada.

I am new to DSLR but not to photography. My new (to me) Nikon D3200 see more manual modes than other modes as I am still uncertain how to use them...

In the past, I toyed with 35mm film cameras in pns and slr style, APS film cameras and a few pns digitals in the past, but always postponed getting more serious in the hobby. I recently bought a used, well cared D3200 with less than 2200 shots on the counter, along with a 18-55mm and a 55-200mm lens.

I enjoy playing with the sun in my shots, I like some architectural, some scenery. Portraits sometimes.

Theres quite a lot of reading to be done here, and many great shots. Often with data on how it was achieved. I hope to learn a lot from my stay in the forums.

Welcome to the forum

If you fill out your profile and add the camera gear we can better answer any questions that you might have.
You can do that at http://nikonites.com/profile.php?do=editprofile

Under camera just put the model number like D7100; Once you put the first letter like D you will see a list of all the cameras in the database pop up. The more numbers you put in the smaller the list becomes. When you see your camera just click on it, Be sure to click on "Save Changes" in the lower right corner.

Thanks

Guidelines to adding a photo to your post.

1. Resize photo to 1000px on the long side.
2. Resolution set to 72ppi (Pixels Per Inch)

These guidelines will be good for viewing on a computer but will not be good for printing. This will help safeguard your copyright.

I believe I already did that. Thanks.

As for image size, thanks also, it's a very good practice.

Once you put the camera in your profile it will show up to the left in every post you make.

The image size limit of 1000px on the long side will make it so the EXIF data will show to everyone when they hover over your photo.

How about this one?

If you hover over it you should see the EXIF data. This one does not show. A lot may depend on how you process also. HEre is an example of one of mine where the information does show. I just helps when you have a question on a photo if we can see the information. It is also a help to people who see one of your photos and like it for people to see how you shot it.

I know it does have the exif data on it before I attach it. Perhaps how I attach it does something?
Let me try it again.

Maybe the photo-editing program you used to edit the pix, has a dialog box which is defaulted to not share the exif data. Lightroom and PS both allow that.

No, I still see the exif on the processed file when I open it on an exif viewer. I guess it's the way I upload the files from my mobile.
