Hi all and thanks for letting me join. I'm a long time photographer doing the dirty deed of switching from Canon to Nikon.
I'm from Western New York. Can't seem to make up my mind whether to get the Nikon 810 or the 850 yet but I do look forward to doing my homework here and getting to know you awesome people

Thanks for posting. Lots to learn. YouTube Ugly Hedge Hug and here are great places to learn and get your answers. D850 would be my pick. It’s a fantastic camera. Years of use. I’d spend the extra bucks for it. Keep us in the loop and post pictures.

Howdy and welcome to Nikonites!!!

If budget allows, I'd go with the D850 as that should keep you in a good place for many years to come. If budget is more of a concern, the D810 is also a beast of a camera, and is keeping me company for many years to come. :)

I don't own either camera, but I'd go for the D850. A photographer I deal with online has both, and says the D850's only problem over the D810 is file size, but that it is more than worth it. He claims that it far above the D810, which he happens to own and still thinks highly of.

Thanks everyone. I have a budget of 20k and am leaning toward the 850.
My biggest concern is what lenses match best. I'm into portraits, landscaping and wildlife
