Came across this forum with the discussion about the D810 going out of production. I have been using Nikons from SLR and DSLR with work from a D70S in 2004 on to currently D7100's. I own a D60, D7000 and a D810, 18-200, 16-35 and 300 f4 which are used for recreational photo's, landscapes and birds. Now that the pricing has been released for the D850, It is possible they will continue to produce the 810 beside the 850 as it is around twice the price in Australia.

In answer to the production of the D810, I've heard its already ceased. There'd be no reason for Nikon to carry on producing it, they want people to buy the D850. That said, theres loads still around and there'll be some good ones around on the second hand market for a very long time. Welcome along..

The thing I find confusing about that is if you look on the Nikon Australia site there are many superceded cameras still listed. Is that for info only or are they still available?

Welcome to the forum!
I am watching the D810 prices and production status too, as I am trying to decide whether to upgrade my D7100 to a D500 (Replace D7100), a D750 (+Keep D7100) or a D810 (+Keep D7100).

I chose the D810 for it's resolution. One thing it does I'm not sure everyone realises it has 3 sensor sizes, obviously DX and FX but also a 25 MP one in the middle. It does most things. I have kept mt D7000 with a 18-200 lens on it as my quick to hand camera. I still really like it. I'd be interested on your thoughts on replacing your D7100 with another DX format in a D500. The 7100 is a great camera, just not FX.

Howdy and welcome to Nikonites!!!

I too am hoping that the D810 continues in production for awhile yet, as I would really like to pick up a second body as a backup to my current D810. Can't justify it financially at this point, but I'm hopeful it will still be going strong when I can.
