Yes, I have looked at the D7200. I've also looked at ALL models albeit at some point I have to consider previously owned bodies due to cost. But mainly I have to match the body to my needs. Dave

[edit] BTW, with the new D7500, is the D7200 still available?

Welcome. Many here including myself have purchased units refurbished by Nikon. Most were satisfied with the purchase.

Thanks for the offer. I'll keep it in mind. Dave

Re: Newbie in Maryland without a Nikon (yet)

    For me I traveled from Nikon FE, D40, D5100, D7200, D500. I really like the D500.

I have for my wife a Sony a6000.

Friend BIUGHT the Fujifilm and he loves it.

So many good cameras. Hard choice. But if you want a Nikon D500 is the one to buy. JMO

Thanks for your informative post. The D500 is really nice but at an average street value of $1,750 (body only), I would have to find a used one or possibly a refurbished body. Cheers... Dave

I have the D7100 and my wife shoots it now. For the money and quality I might suggest the D7100 Refurbished

Nikon D7100 Digital SLR Camera Body - Factory Refurbished includes Full 1 Year Warranty

Then spend the extra money on good glass

Thanks for the refurb link on a D7100. That is definitely a possibility to have money for nice glass like you said. Dave

I bought a refurb D7000 and a few refurbished lenses from them and they were all like new and did have a one year warranty so I felt safe buying from them.
