Howdy Hans and welcome to Nikonites!

Just curious ... the 5DM4 is an awesome full frame camera. What has you looking at the D500 (also an awesome camera) as a replacement?

I'm looking at the crop sensor more range with my 150 600 sport, I do only wildlife that's why, but there are getting more professionals FF camera's fore wildlife.
I can try to use a 1.4 converter but I'm losing light.
Alot of to think about, perhapse you can help or someone else to make the right decision.

Don't forget that if you get the D500, you will also need a Nikon version of the 150-600 sport lens. Does Canon NOT make a decent crop sensor camera?

Makes sense to me. Going to a crop body rather than the 1.4 converter provides the tighter crop without the loss of light.

I don't have any experience with the Sigma 150-600 on the D500, but Nikon's 200-500 performs very well. Since you would need to replace both the body and the lens if you go the way of the D500, that might be worth checking out. Sigma and Tamron both make the 150-600s that provide another 100mm of focal length, but the Nikon benefits from a fixed f/5.6 aperture all the way through the zoom length, so handles a teleconverter a little easier.

Hello Brent,

They do make the 7d mark ii but is not so good as the Nikon d500, the cost for a new lens isn't necessary because the Art and Sport lens can remounted at Sigma service in Japan the cost are 200 euro fore Art lens and 350 euro for the sport lens. I still don't now what to do :0)

Welcome to the family. I am deciding on an upgrade of my D300 crop sensor, and I don't know what to do either.
